WG-72
Security

Aeronautical Systems Security

Currently there is little guidance or regulatory material published on the subject of Aeronautical System Security. In contrast, there is considerable guidance and regulatory material published on the subject of aeronautical system safety and ground systems security. As safety and security are two distinct but related concepts that interact, the WG will be required to place emphasis on their respective characteristics and dedicated domains of application. WG-72 is developing Aeronautical System Security guidelines specifying security objectives rather than solutions in order to ensure their stability over time, addressing airborne systems and interfacing ground systems in their end-to-end relationship. In doing so, WG-72 has adopted a holistic approach, addressing security-related topics throughout the entire lifecycle of products developed, manufactured and operated by many different civil aviation stakeholders.
